Writer and director Brenda Chapman started her career at Walt Disney Feature Animation on films that include the Oscar nominated Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King, for which she won the Annie Award. Chapman then helped launch DreamWorks Animation Studios, co-directing the Oscar winning Prince of Egypt. She later joined Pixar Animation Studios where she created, wrote and directed Brave for which she won an Oscar, BAFTA and Golden Globe.


Currently, Chapman is directing her first live-action film, Come Away and has started a new production company, ‘Twas Entertainment, with her husband, director Kevin Lima.

Brenda Chapman will be introduced by Claudia Spinelli

Claudia Spinelli is Nickelodeon’s Vice President of Animation Development.  Prior to this position, Spinelli served as the Vice President, Current Series, Animation overseeing production and brand management of several Nickelodeon cartoons including  SpongeBob SquarePants.  Spinelli’s work on SpongeBob extended beyond the show into other projects including SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical, which garnered 12 Tony Award nominations.
